Salvador's retirement fund

Dear neighbors & community,

If you haven’t heard the news, our local restaurant Su Casa, Seafood Grotto, will be serving its authentic Sonoran Mexican fare for the last time on Sunday, October 27th.

After 47 years, 65-year-old long time employee, Master Guacamole Chef, and neighbor, Salvador Hernandez Lopez will be “semi-retiring”, until his second career comes to fruition.  All of us that know Sal, hope he isn’t forced into retirement for too long.

Sal, is not only a friend, he’s a mentor.  He’s gracious, so kind, generous, and filled with “heaps” of humility, and love.  He doesn’t drink, never owned a car, and has lived in the same studio apartment (Windnsea) he’s walked to/from work, and until the last few years shared with his brother.

For patrons & neighbors of Su Casa, I’ve started this GF.Me  (gf.me/u/v3kydw) if you’d like to contribute to his retirement.  Sal is one of my closest friends.  Even though, through his faith and positive attitude he isn’t worried about his retirement, I’m aware of the upcoming challenges, being familiar with the circumstances.

If you haven’t already seen Sal’s NBC interview on the restaurant’s closing feel free to follow the attached link  NBC news interview w/ Sal

I know Salvador would appreciate seeing everyone prior to the restaurant closing.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at [email redacted].

Thank you.
