Salamanders Adaptive Learn to Play Hockey
Donation protected
Hi! Our names our Sienna M and Lesi R. We are both 14 and have started a learn-to-skate/ play ice hockey program this summer named "Skating Salamanders". Our program is 100% free to our participants, who all have an intellectual or developmental disability. One kid (6yrs) also has a physical disability - cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy means she has limited strength in her limbs so she uses a wheelchair. So you see, skating conventionally wouldn't work for her, meaning we had to get her a custom ice hockey sled, and we're so glad we did! She has a blast every practice, but that sled did have quite the financial impact- $1,000 worth. That's why we are fundraising - to help pay for the part of the sled we didn't have funds for this year, and to have funds next year for any ice time we can't get donated, or maybe for another sled.
