A little bit about me, my culture and my story.
Salamasina was given this name by her great Grand father Taavili Tui’Tamalelagi; it is a regal name of great significance. The name comes byway of Queen Salamasina, who reigned in Samoa during its infancy. Our Salamasina is now representing this honored name by living a lifestyle that is reflective of Queen Salamasina.
Q. Knowing that Miss World is being a community ambassodor, tell us why you should be Miss World America?
I am an Ambassodor, even before becoming a delagate for this special event. At a very young age, I understood and accepted my role as leader, ambassodor and representative. My culture is unique in this way, we hold our family name (titles) and regal traditions to a very high standard. When we deface our name, we destroy our history and honor. I like the Marine Corps Hymn, it reminds me of our Veterans, our Freedoms and why a good Name is worth keeping clean!
“First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
Of United States Marines”
My GrandFather, Uncles, Aunties and cousins who have served and who still serve are my role models. My choice to champion the plight of Vetarans will be my platform, agenda and motivation. My Title if selected will allow me a greater platform, it will also add an increased awareness within the media and in public’s eye. I understand what it means to honor ones name, a given title and your promised word.
