Saline Heritage FLL World Championship

We need YOUR help getting to the FIRST Lego League World Championship!

Our FLL robotics team has worked extremely hard, winning first place in the 2023 Michigan Championship! We’ve qualified for the FLL World Championship in April, located in Houston, TX.

We’d love your support for our entrance fee and travel to get all the families to the tournament. We appreciate and welcome any and all donations and thank you for helping us along the way on our STEM journey!

3-2-1-LEGO!

FIRST is an international STEM program. We introduce science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to children in 4th and 5th grade through fun and exciting hands-on learning. Our kids love Lego and joined Saline (MI) Heritage elementary school’s RoboSwarm robotics team. They’ve met twice a week for months: using creativity and persistence to problem solve, code, engineer and build a working robot, develop an innovation project, and work as a team to achieve the Core Values of FIRST LEGO League.

The first component of FLL is demonstrating the Core Values: Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition through Impact, Inclusion, Innovation, Discovery, Fun, and Teamwork. We empower children to achieve success in anything they do.

The second component of FLL is development of an Innovation project around this year’s theme “using art and technology to engage others in what you love to do”. This year’s team built a world first hobby website to share what they love with others so they too can enjoy the many benefits of having a hobby, e.g., stress relief, or bringing the family together.

The third component of competition is to build a robot that completes on the Masterpiece game board, along with ~48 other teams at the tournaments. The team with the highest point total wins the Robot Performance Award.

Exceling in these 3 elements and sharing that with the judges during a 30 minute interview is what earned them the championship!

We are now making arrangements to get team RoboSwarm (7 families) to the World Championships. Any help getting our team to this next adventure is greatly appreciated.
