Salish Sea Ceramic Studio a Business on the MOVE

Donation protected
Hello, My name is Rachel Recker, and I am a ceramic artist.
I started a pottery studio in Everett, Wa. We opened in January 2021. Currently we offer all sorts of classes from wheel throwing to memberships, studio assistants and jobs. I am asking for your help today to continue to raise money for our anticipated studio expansion. We have to move from our dreamy current location, but we are being give the opportunity to move into another dreamy location right next door. Please consider donating to this growing art business as we level up and move into MORE OF THE BUILDING WE ARE ALREADY IN!!!!!!!! Check out this video to see the vision from a year ago. Now we get to actually move into that back location, and we NEED HELP.

Salish Sea Ceramic Studio is contributing to the Everett community vibe of a growing city. The city is growing with people moving here and staying, thanks to how livable Everett is and how much potential it has. Plus it has a super cool pottery studio. If you want to take a trip down memory lane here is the first video of a first dreamy space that got the excitement flowing. Below is a video Rachel and her friend Gretchen Hoover (of the band Mother Blue) made back in Autumn 2020 asking for money to begin this dream. The space in this video is not the space the studio ended up in!
The universe provided something better and it continues to expand and grow at a quicker pace than I often feel ready.  Salish Sea Ceramic Studio is locted at 1111 Hewitt Ave, Everett Wa. check us out and come support the local Everett arts!

Rachel has been making art her whole life, but was introduced to clay at Maryland Institute College of Art from 2003-2007. Since then, she moved to Seattle and made pottery out of the Community Center Ceramic Studios.  Eventually transitioning to working and teaching at YuTang Ceramics in Fremont. I had just been hired to teach pottery at the Montlake Communtiy Center with Tim Fox when Covid hit and the pandemic put everything on hold. It has been really interesting to watch the artistic community pivot, and I am excited to be part of that. I recently moved to Everett from Seattle and am missing the culture and community of the Pottery studio!  I am excited about my new home in North Everett and know the community is ready for an artistic spin. Everyone is so nice and friendly and I want to grow the community spirit.

Right now it is my sincere belief we need art. Regardless of who is in power, we all need to be able to talk about our lives and our personal struggles that make us human. Art brings us together, but mostly to have fun, share ideas and start talking about difficult subjects. It is commonly known, Art brings a better mental attitude and allows one to synthesize our experiences in this world. Which is all anyone needs in order to live a more healthy fully integrated life style.
My training and working as a Physical Therapist Assistant around King County and the Snohomish area has allowed me to assist in the healing process around this region. However I want to heal through art applying what I have learned as a therapist.
Not only will this make the general vibe of a class and my teaching style different....but allow me to teach classes to various underserved populations. Which I am excited to incorporate into the studio monthly flow.
I have many ideas on how this studio will be there for other people. I want this to be a place to take on an identity of its own, and do something that I am unable to do by myself.

I have found the perfect location on Hewitt and Marine View drive and moved in on January 4th 2021. I have received more help and support from friends and complete strangers than I have known what to do with! So many people have shown up to help this studio happen it is humbling to see miracles in the works. There are many other ways to support besides monetary including taking a class! SHARING this please, sharing the website at www.salishseaceramicstudio.com or liking or following us on IG and FB.
May the Odds be ever in our favor!!!

I will be very grateful for your monetary help and am humbled I have such a supportive community of everyone in my life to ask for help from.  I plan on naming the studio Salish Sea Ceramic Studio, as the Salish Sea provides us life here in the PNW and you can see the Ocean from the sidewalk and smell the Ocean air. I am so excited to keep you updated on the progress and for you to drop by when it is open! I'll totally owe you a ceramic thing! I plan on putting a list of donors for this initial fundraiser on the wall in the studio.  Heres to Creativity, the gift that just keeps giving.
