Sally is fighting for her life-Please help her...

Hello friends, we are reaching out today to ask the community to come together and support our dear friend, Sally Boisvenue, who has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Sally has been undergoing chemo and radiation treatments since March 27th, is currently hospitalized, and continues to fight for her life and a full recovery.

Sally is a Veteran who served in the US Army during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. After returning from the Persian Gulf, she acquired her nursing degree and worked in emergency rooms throughout the county before taking a remote position in 2015.

Like many of us, Sally has difficulty asking for and receiving help, although she has spent her entire life serving others and catering to all kinds of decrepit animals. Admittedly, getting her to agree to the GoFundME took some convincing. However, those of us who know her can attest to the countless times Sally has placed the needs of others before her own, been that “4 am friend”, nursed family and friends back to health, and saved lives! She’s the one who fights for the underdog, reaches out when it’s least expected, takes in the throwaways and strays, and provides empathy and care for those who otherwise might not receive it. She cared for her mother for 12 years before she passed and was the caretaker for her brother, who died of cancer not long ago. Despite adversity, Sally continues to help friends and family undergoing major medical treatment. Her caring heart, expertise, and unparalleled sense of humor have helped many overcome what was said to be impossible.

So, we are asking friends, family, community, and The Universe to pull together to assist in Sally’s healing and FULL recovery. Additionally, we want to embrace and reassure her that she is NOT alone in this fight for her life and that we hold her in love.

Currently, Sally is facing increasing medical expenses, which undoubtedly add to the physical and mental stressors of having cancer. Although hopeful of recovery, she desperately needs support to cover expenses. Unfortunately, health insurance (COBRA), prescriptions not covered by insurance, deductibles, endless hospital bills, and medical supplies/equipment not covered by insurance are just the tip of the iceberg.
