We are reaching out with heavy hearts and a deep sense of hope during this incredibly challenging time. My beloved sister-in-law, Salma Chami, a devoted mother, grandmother (Tayta), daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, has recently been diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer at the young age of 41.

Her life—and the lives of her five beautiful children and two grandsons—has been turned upside down as she now faces the toughest battle of her life. Cancer, as many of you know, is not only physically and emotionally draining but also financially devastating. Despite Salma’s boundless strength and resilience, the rising costs of her ongoing treatments, coupled with day-to-day living expenses, have created a tremendous burden.

Salma is the heart and soul of her family and is deeply loved by all who know her. As a devoted mother of five, she has dedicated her life to caring for her children, including her eldest son, who contracted meningitis at just 6 days old, resulting in blindness, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, and autism, requiring 24-hour care. Her three younger children, aged 12, 9, and 5, also depend on her for everything.

Salma’s world revolves around her children and grandchildren, and our deepest wish is that she can focus on her healing and spending precious time with her loved ones during this difficult journey—without the burden of financial worry.

We are asking for your help to ease this burden by supporting her family with the following needs:

• Prescription medications, including additional life saving chemotherapy drugs and natural therapies that may support her recovery

• Essential home repairs to make the home safe and comfortable for Salma and her family during the weeks and months ahead

• Car repairs, as reliable transportation is crucial for medical appointments and daily needs

• Support for travel to and from frequent medical appointments

• Additional childcare for her younger children during treatment sessions

• Household expenses to help with day-to-day needs as Salma focuses on her health
