Help Salsa for Her Education (Tuition Fee)
Donation protected
Hi there,
I created this GoFundMe page on behalf of my 17-year-old visually impaired daughter, Dea.
She has a childhood best friend in Indonesia. Her name is Salsa. She needs money for college, but luckily for you, tuition in Indonesia is far less expensive than it is here. She is blind just like my daughter, and in Indonesia it's not as easy to be employed as it is in the US, so getting a degree is essential to Salsa's success.
This relates to the documentary my daughter and Salsa were the subjects of over the course of the past year. The director, Ucu Agustin, chose to highlight both of them in her low-budget, independent project because blind individuals in Indonesia do not have the rights blind people are entitled to in America. Over the course of filming, we found out through Ms. Agustin that Salsa had to take a year off because she does not have the money to register for her entrance exams OR her tuition, and her parents are both blind and cannot support her financially at all. Such is the lack of opportunity in the country where we come from.
It would mean the world to my daughter if you could donate a few dollars to help our cause. Salsa is one of the kindest, most intelligent people we know, and she deserves to flourish as much as a student in the United States does.
Thank you for reading, and for your generosity.
Sincerely
Indah Setiowati and Dea
