SALTY PAWS SVG ANIMAL CHARITY - HURRICANE BERYL

Donation protected
We recently got badly hit by a category 4/5 hurricane, Beryl on July 1st 2024. Our island is totally destroyed but somehow part of our clinic is still standing, partly roofed so we are still able to perform surgeries when there are visiting vets. We haven’t had much luck in getting Vets but we need as much funds so we can cover costs to bring them in. The animals here need a lot of help. They were really struggling prior to the hurricane so you can just imagine it now.
About us:
Salty Paws is a non-profit organization and animal clinic based on the beautiful paradise island of Union Island in St.Vincent & the Grenadines, South of the Caribbean.

Zoe, the owner that also runs The Salty Girl on Union Island, has a huge love for animals and is trying her best to raise awareness on the importance of treating animals kindly.

Since she was a little girl, she said she would help the island animals, but she can’t do it by herself.

We are on a small isolated island, with a population of less than 3000 people and lots of stray cats & dogs. As we have no veterinarians on island, it makes it very difficult to care for the animals and to control the unwanted overpopulation of them.

Many animals get hit by cars and as we do not have vets on the island very often, most times we have to get the injured animal to another island which is extremely costly.

We currently have approximately 30 cats and dogs living on the premises at Salty Paws SVG.
Susie is our live-in caretaker and is fabulous with our in-house animals, while they wait on finding their forever homes which are not easy to find.

We have taken in the less fortunate animals in the past, that are abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Often found in a terrible state, mostly near death or very ill, we pick them up and offer them a safe place to shelter, with food and lots of love.
Once recovered, we spay and neuter them & try to find them loving homes.
We no longer rescue animals as we are at full capacity and it does not help the situation. The costs to feed the animals take away from what we could do to help the rest of the island animals.
So instead we just treat the animals that need help.

We use our clinic to offer free spay & neuter clinics, carried out by qualified vets when visiting, so that we can fight the overpopulation of cats & dogs on Union Island and ensure they have a happier and healthier future.

So far we have been able to do a few clinics thanks to donations, however we would need to continue this for many more years to come, so that a true difference can be made for the well being of our island animals. And for this we need your help !

Donations go towards vet fees, medications, daily feeding costs as well as general day to day costs to run the rescue.

Zoe funds most of it herself.
We are run entirely by donations, made possible by the incredible donors that donate to our organisation as well as the amazing volunteers that help us.

Costs are high to feed and care for the animals, so any help would be greatly appreciated as we try to reach our goal in spaying and neutering as many animals on the island so that we can control the population of unwanted animals.

Thanks to you guys, we are able to help our furry friends on Union Island for as long as possible and couldn't thank you enough from the bottom of our hearts for any help.

Any amount would help us greatly in trying to reach our goals of giving all the animals on our small island a better and healthier life !
