Salvador Davalos Jr. recently passed away due to complications with COVID-19. It was a hard blow to our family and to all those that love him. We are devasted and heartbroken at the loss of his young life. He was a good father to his two beautiful daughters, Gaby and Alejandra. He was a loving and supportive husband to his dear wife Lateafa and a noble friend to many. He was an amazing brother with the kindest soul you could ever imagine. Junior, as we called him, was the nicest of the bunch. Our mother used to say regularly, “El Junior es el más bueno de mis hijos.” (“Junior is the kindliest of all my kids.”) Needless to say, she was not lying, Junior was our family’s gentle giant. Junior loved his family and his family loved him. He was caring, sympathetic, and the friendliest person you could come to know. Junior loved to dance, he treasured music, cherished both of his cultures, but most of all, he adored his family.
HE WAS MY KINDHEARTED LITTLE BROTHER AND I WILL MISS HIM DEARLY!
On behalf of my family, I thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Your words of comfort, your messages and your friendly phone calls. Your emotional support does not go unnoticed. My family graciously extends our gratitude for the outpouring support. We have been blessed with great people in our lives and are profoundly moved by their thoughtfulness. For this, I am thankful. I understand that we are all reflective and even pensive in these recent harsh times we are living. It is a fact that we are all in this together. The memories and experiences we have had with the special people in in our lives is what we hold onto for strength and perseverance. I, myself, have taken this tragic experience to reflect not just on the memories with our loved ones but to appreciate the present and will continue to build new ones with the people that I hold dearest. I have been hugging more, kissing lots, and have made it a point to be more forgiving. We never know when we will see our last moments on this earth. Love, love, love the people that you care for and reach out with the same energy to the ones that we may not know but may need a bit or care as well. We are all people with a heart and hurt the same way. Why can’t we love the same way as well? I will finish with this… a good friend of mine always says “Carpe Diem!” Seize the day! Do what you can now that would make our lives more worthwhile. A meaningful action that comes from your heart can go a long way for someone who needs it. My brother Salvador was a wholesome, good person and all-around nice guy. Everyone that knew him can attest to this. He was my beloved brother and I will miss him always. He will live on within me and all who remain loving him!
Many have been asking how they can help. My brother Juan Carlos and I have taken it upon ourselves to create this site as a way to gather some tangible support for my departed brother Junior’s family. I, Javier Figueroa, Sal's brother, will be closely monitoring and managing this ongoing effort for my brother and his family. We graciously Thank You again for being there for our family in this very difficult time. Our gratitude cannot be expressed enough. We send all the blessings and love onto you and yours from the bottom of our hearts.
Gracias – Thank you all so much!

No le diste a nadie una última despedida
Ni nunca dijiste adiós.
Te fuiste antes de tu tiempo; inesperadamente;
y solo Dios sabe por qué.
Muchísimo te extrañaremos.
Un millón de veces lloraremos.
Si solamente el amor fuera tu Salvador;
nunca hubieras muerto.
Aunque mis ojos ya no podran verte;
En nuestra memoria seguiras viviendo.
Nos volveremos a encontrar algún día,
en un lugar mejor espero.
Doy gracias a Dios que te hizo nuestro hermano;
Pero le cuestiono el haberse llevado;
el mas noble de nosotros.
Nos despedimos de ti, Hermano querido.
Lamentando inútilmente; tu ausencia para siempre!
