Salvando Amigos Y Dejando Huellas is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the rescue, care and delivery adoption of cats and dogs in a state of abandonment and abuse on the Island of Cozumel, Mexico.

Thanks to the support of all of you wonderful people, we could move from the rented location and start to build the new shelter where all our dogs are currently located. we started from zero and little by little with all your help we have made a lot of improvements. Right now we are working on replacing the roof metal sheets with a concrete roof, which is safer for our dogs, especially during hurricane season. That's why we have set a new goal so we can afford the labour costs for this project which is around 60,000 Mexican pesos.

Our motivation at Salvando Amigos Y Dejando Huellas is to make a difference through our work, in a society in which unfortunately we still have a lot to learn about respecting animal life. We are sure that by not giving up and continuing our fight against abuse and neglect, little by little we will create an impact among the inhabitants of the Island, who are increasingly deciding to have pets responsibly.

Thanks to Mara, the fate of many animals on the island has changed positively and they have found loving homes where they will care for a lifetime, and although it is not an easy task to keep the shelter standing, we have always had the support of somehow many people who give us a hand to continue, that is why we want to make our foundation more known, that many more people know us and together we can continue to help so many friends who need it.
