Salvatore G. Bonanno

Salvatore G. Bonanno of Little Ferry, known best for a good laugh and a great meal passed suddenly January 13th, 2024. To help with the expenses of Sal’s funeral, Sal Jr. has created this Gofundme.

Born in New York City to the late Mildred and Sam Bonanno, he entered the workforce in the printing industry before discovering his love for cooking. He then went on to graduate from NY Culinary School and eventually became the chef and owner of the well-known and well-loved Sal Anthony's Restaurant in Carlstadt. For 12 years Sal’s passion for cooking drew in all walks of life, from celebrities, to politicians, to families and friends. After Sal Anthony’s, Sal continued with his love for cooking as chef at Villa Maria Claire and head chef at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck before recently retiring.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Friday, January 19th at 9 AM. Funeral Liturgy from St. Margaret of Cortona R.C. Church in Little Ferry at 10 AM. Private cremation will follow. Visitation Thursday, January 18th from 6 - 9 PM at the funeral home.
