Support Salvino's Family in Their Time of Need

Salvino Luis Ceballos, our beautifully wide eyed, sweet, kind, curious, scrappy, energetic, dog loving, Pokemon collecting, bike riding, EVCS second grader and community member passed away tragically Saturday night June 3, 2023 from a brain aneurysm. It feels as if we are frozen. There were no warning signs and his sudden loss is completely unconscionable. Salvino was a tree climbing, soccer playing, treasure hunting, food tasting, animal loving, African drumming, video gaming, generous older brother, cousin, nephew, best friend, former PS 110 classmate, East River Coop neighbor, grandson, and beloved son. At seven years old, he was already the most vibrant of souls. In our playground, you could feel Salvino everywhere like he was in every different part of the space playing in every different game at the same time.
Salvino had the most beautiful way of connecting with anyone he met. When his next-door neighbor told Salvino she didn’t have any friends in the building, he knocked on her door shortly after with another adult neighbor and introduced them! His heart was giant. He made everyone laugh, included everyone in on the secret, and let anyone and everyone who crossed his path know how much fun there was to be had, and where to find it. He had the best hair and toothless smile of any kid, ever. He was all love.
Salvino is survived by his younger siblings, Giovanni and Lilou, and his parents, Anastasia and Camilo, who are at the center of our community, offering food and wine in our courtyard to anyone and everyone on any given weekend. They are connectors, just like Salvino. Please consider donating to Salvino’s family to cover expenses as they try to put the pieces together, grieve, support Salvino’s two younger siblings, honor Salvino’s memory, and lay their beloved son to rest.
We appreciate any and all contributions and thank you in advance for helping spread the word about the fundraiser. Every dollar can help ease the financial burden for Salvino's grieving family, regardless of contribution size. We hope this beautiful family finds a way forward with ongoing family support, continued family therapy, and visits from close family and friends both here and from France.
All our love to the community at large. Thank you to all who came to celebrate Salvino on Saturday, June 10th.
Special thanks to Amos Gabia, Capoeira Guatambu, and everyone who volunteered and contributed to the beautiful memorial.
