Sam and Wills 112mile run for Lyme Disease Action

My name’s Sam, and my sister Claire died last year after a fifteen year battle with Lyme disease and its associated co infections. Lyme itself is a seriously under researched and brutal disease which, if not caught soon after infection, is extremely difficult to eradicate, as Claire sadly found. It is mostly transmitted by a tick bite, and despite being the fastest growing vector borne disease in the UK, Europe and the US it also has the doubtful distinction of being, by far, the least research funded of these diseases. Complete removal of Lyme requires early diagnosis, but there is no clear diagnostic tool, and very many cases are caught too late for heavy antibiotic treatment to be totally effective, and there is a desperate need for a quick and clear diagnosis.

I put this to you so individuals and families do not have to suffer the same, and every donation takes a step to do that

LDA is the UK's longest established charity dealing with ticks and Lyme disease. They focus on providing quality information to patients, the public and health professionals. We work with researchers and doctors to help them, as well as providing support for patients. Any small donations really account for a lot. Thank you so much for your contribution to this cause, it means so much to me.

Follow along with our training program to complete the Two Moors Way Ultra-marathon. A 112 mile route through Exmoor and Dartmoor. We aim to complete this in under 38hours. Our instagram has updates on our training @samandwill_
