Sam Porter - The Porter Family
Donation protected
On Sunday, July 17th, 2022 the town of CBS was shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of 6 year old Sam Porter.
Sam was a kindergarten graduate from Admiral's Academy and attended the town's summer camp programs. Sam played hockey, ball hockey, baseball and softball in the community. He was an amazing young athlete. At hockey, he was the fastest; his speed and stride were unforced, a natural skater. Sam ran the fastest, hit the hardest and tossed the furthest. Sam was full of energy and fearless. If you have ever seen Sam climb the trees in front of their home, you know exactly what I mean. He was a little kid with an incredibly large personality, a true friend who will be missed by so many.
As a parent, I can’t imagine what Angie (mother), Steve (father), Aiden (brother age 9) and the rest of the Porter and Gear families are going through.
Most people in this world will have lived their entire lives and will never touch the hearts of as many as Sam was able to do in his short 6 years. I was lucky enough to have coached Sam for the past two hockey seasons and recently during the light the lamp ball hockey tournament. My son and Sam were the best of friends, and my wife and I are friends of the family. As we all grieve through this difficult time, it would be much appreciated if the community could come together for the Porter Family in their time of need. This family has done so much for everyone, now they need our help to get through this difficult time.
The main goal of this fundraiser is to relieve some of the financial stress associated with a sudden loss of a love one. The family would also love to be able to donate any additional funds to add to the school playground in Sam's memory.
