Sam Samudra suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on Saturday 19 January 2019. He has left behind a wife (Sujeewa), a young daughter and another baby on the way in just a few months.
Less than 2 days prior to his passing, Sam mentioned that he was feeling unwell, but thought that it was the stress from working on his new business. His daughter was sleeping in the bed with her mother so he went to bed separately. When Sujeewa went to wake him, she found that he was unconscious. She called the ambulance who came but were unable to revive him. He had a heart attack at the age of 35.

This time is terribly sad and stressful for Sujeewa, who is grieving the loss of her husband, while staying strong for her daughter and unborn child. A time which should be joyous – preparing for the arrival of a new baby – is now full of grief.
Sam was a hardworking man, who recently started his own business. He and Sujeewa moved from Sri Lanka to Canada in 2012 to make a better life for themselves. He worked so hard to support his family. He was a loving husband and father and a genuine, honest person.

It is very unfair that Sam’s life was tragically cut short. We are raising money for his family to be able to continue (at least in part) the life they had planned for their children. The funds will go towards funeral expenses, bill payments and schooling for the 2 children when the time comes.
Every bit of help we can get for this family will go such a long way in helping them to overcome the hurdles which they will face in the coming months. We are so thankful to everyone who decides to help such a wonderful family.
