SAMMY'S STORY
Sam needs your help. She is a 20 year old Hermann's tortoise that was recently surrendered to the rescue under very difficult circumstances for her heartbroken owner. We instantly fell in love with her quirky, friendly personality. But we immediately noticed poor Sam was suffering a vent prolapse and we booked her straight in to our amazing vets. She was x-rayed the same day, and what we saw on those x-rays was truly shocking. Sammy has produced three eggs, two of which look malformed. The third egg is absolutely colossal, and not something Sammy could ever lay on her own. In order to save Sam's life, she needs a complicated and invasive surgery to remove the eggs and allow her system to function normally again. She must be so uncomfortable.
Wrights Vets have been incredible, and have even offered to fund half of the cost of Sam's surgery - we couldn't do this without them. But we still need to find the rest.
We have three weeks to raise £600.
Anything you could give will help.
Can you help us to save Sam's life?
Thank you.
