My names Katie and I have set this up on behalf of my younger brother (Sam) who has been diagnosed with Cancer at the very young age of 14. For those of you that don’t know Sam, this is his story..

Sams Story:

My younger brother Sam, is 19 and fighting cancer for the second time in his life. It started 5 years ago when he was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of liver cancer. Sam had 30% of his liver and the tumour removed immediately, followed by a long course of chemotherapy. Sam was cancer free for 4 years and continued to live a fairly normal life.

Just before Sam’s 18th birthday they unfortunately found a shadow on his lungs. This shadow turned out to be lots of little tumours which had spread across both of his lungs and this time it was back with a vengeance. Sam has had a constant stream of different forms of treatment since finding out the cancer had returned, but without much success. Due to the location of the new tumours, the cancer cannot be removed with another operation like previously. He is currently trialling a course of immunotherapy with the hope of managing the tumours. We are continuously trying different forms of treatment but there aren’t many options left.

Myself and my amazing friend Izzy have decided to take on the challenge of walking the entirety of the circumference of the Isle of Wight, carrying camping gear along the way. It is a 70 mile or 112 kilometre walk which we are hoping to complete in 3 days, making it just sort of walking a marathon every day! In doing so, we are hoping to raise some money for Sam to be able to complete some bucket list ideas and to make memories with us all! Any help big or small will be massively appreciated by us all and will enable Sam to complete as many bucket list activities as possible ❤️
