Samantha Amos & Family Recovery - Bonny Doon Fire

On Friday, August 21st, Samantha Amos and her family lost their home in Bonny Doon. It was engulfed by the raging flames of the CZU Lightning Complex fires currently threatening the lives of those living in southern San Mateo County and Santa Cruz county. In just a matter of hours their home - full of their belongings and years of cherished memories - was completely destroyed by the fire.
Thankfully, Samantha was able to evacuate safely with her two children and her animals. Her partner Jake Chirco currently remains in Bonny Doon bravely trying to protect his uncle's home on the property on which they all lived.
Though the nightmare of these fires is far from over for the residents of these California counties (this particular fire has covered over 63,000 acres and is only 5% contained), the process to help rebuild starts now. I cannot imagine what Samantha and her family are going through now, having lost almost everything except for themselves.

I first met Samantha after moving to California a few years ago. Working for her was truly a privilege - to learn from and spend time with someone so knowledgeable, hardworking, generous, patient, and compassionate. She was and always be a role model to me. She is a mother, a daughter, a friend, a leader, and so much more.
I am currently living in San Antonio, Texas and feel rather helpless due to the current 1,700 miles between us. But donating is a way for everyone reading this who might not have proximity to coastal California to help Samantha, Jake, and their two young girls begin to rebuild their life.
Together we have the opportunity to help those who have lost everything during these uncertain times.
