Samantha & Gaozong's kidney match surgery
Donation protected
Hello Friends and Family,
It's me Gaozong. As some of you may know, my mom was diagnosed with stage 5 chronic kidney disease earlier this year and since then it's been a struggle for my mom, my sisters and I. It was difficult navigating what to do and having our lives change in an instant.
However one of the things we found out a few months after my mom started dialysis was that she and I are the same blood type. As soon as I found out, I hugged her and cried. I told her we didn’t have to look for a match. I knew this was it, this was something I wanted to do. It was only a matter of time before we both underwent testing to further confirm I was a strong candidate to donate my kidney. This was how I wanted to show my mom that I loved her and I’m blessed I have that honor and opportunity to do that for her.
At the time, I believed finding a kidney match would be the greatest hurdle we would face together as a family. However as time went on, the reality of the financial challenge post surgery came into light. I’m asking you if there is anything you are able to do to help us during this process, it will be greatly appreciated.
As of right now, surgery is scheduled for January 2021 and at this time, we are preparing and getting ready for it. Whatever you can do is more than enough and I want to thank you for taking the time to help. Please pray for us and I will keep you posted.
