Hi, my name is Cathy Cianfarini, and I am a teacher at Red Bank Elementary School in West Deptford. My sister is Cheryl Bailey, formerly of West Deptford, now living in Sedona, Arizona.
I’m fundraising for my niece, Samantha Budd and her fiance, Matt Hawksley. They are residents of Fort Myers, Florida and have been devastated by hurricane Ian.
Samantha is a nurse at Lee County Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, where she worked 48 hours through the hurricane, while Matt took their dog and many neighbors and went to stay 40 minutes away until the storm subsided.
They lost both of their vehicles to flooding and returned home Thursday to find they had lost their home and all their belongings too. Thankfully, they survived, as many residents did not. This was an utterly devastating hurricane.
Their jobs are in question as well…The hospital is evacuating because of having no water or power and possible stability issues.
Matt owns his own fishing charter business and is a captain that takes vacationers on fishing excursions. He will have no source of income until vacationers can return to the area, which will take months or years.
Many of you know Samantha, as she grew up in West Deptford. She participated in many sports and activities at WDHS, where she graduated in 2012.
It is my hope that any funds raised will help pay for some new clothes, food, a vehicle, and a place to stay until they can return to work and collect on insurance or receive federal aid.
Our whole family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any donation, small or big, that you are able to make! Many blessings to you all!
