Samantha & Ella Accident Fund
On Friday afternoon of August 6th, my sister-in-law Samantha and niece Ella were crossing the street in Ocean City. They waited for the light to turn green and the walk sign to appear before they started across. As they got to the middle of the street, someone was making a left turn and plowed right into Sam and Ella. Luckily, Sam blocked her daughter as best she could, but the van was already hitting them before anyone realized what was happening. Sam went flying through the air and Ella was knocked unconscious. Sam has two broken ribs on her left side where the van hit her, plenty of road rash and bruises from her hip to her shoulder and my niece has a concussion and road rash across the length of her poor little back. The emotional trauma is just as bad as the physical. Sam has stated several times how lucky they are to be alive. That weighs so heavily on her considering that she tried for seven years to give birth to Ella, suffering many miscarriages in the process. Ella and Sam are everything to each other and the thought of that bond being broken has shaken Sam to her core.
Samantha has a small cleaning company and is the sole financial support for Ella. Living at the Jersey Shore and owning a cleaning business, summer is where she makes the majority of her money - and now she’s forced to be out of work while she heals for the two to three months. By the time she’s feeling well enough to return to work, the summer people will have returned home and there won’t be any money to be made for her. So many people have asked how they can help - this is how! The girls have a long road ahead of them while they’re healing - physically and emotionally - and I started this so that we can all raise some money to hold her over for the next couple of months while they’re healing and trying to make it through this nightmare they’re living. Any little bit will help and I’m sure Sam will be incredibly grateful for anything we do for her. If you know Sam, you know she’s the first to help everyone and the last to ask for help for herself. She believes she can do it all, and she usually does, but this is not something she can tackle on her own.
All donations will be given to her to spend however she sees fit - bills she can’t pay while she’s out of work, doctor bills that aren’t covered by the insurance company’s, lawyer expenses, back to school shopping for Ella, whatever she needs since her entire livelihood has now been taken away from her, she’ll need help with all of it. If you want to forward money directly through Venmo, that can be provided, too. Thank you so much!
