Samantha's Place Start Up Fees

Our name is Samantha's Place, a grassroots organization serving Portland's houseless neighbors through intentional and people-centered direct service support. With on-the-ground relationship building, we are able to thoughtfully engage with houseless folks to identify individualized needs, provide specific resources, and foster genuine connections.

Our story is that of two social service workers who are passionate about offering direct services that are accessible and meaningful to those we work with, based on their personal experiences. Through our own work experience, we have witnessed the inequities that infest social service systems and the non-profit world. We are creating programming that challenges the constraints of bureaucratic systems, acknowledges the complexities of intersectionality and systemic oppression, and that values personal connection.

Our goal is to raise $1K in start-up costs to provide resources such as clothing, outdoor gear, and food. In addition, we would use these funds to help us conduct outreach to engage more houseless folks and partners in our community. We believe in full transparency for the expense of funds. We will be documenting the use of funds on our social media, and are willing to provide follow-up via email or phone to let you know how your funds are being utilized!
