Sammy's Hit&Run Jaw Recovery
Donation protected
Sammy Girl is my beautiful brown Tabby cat. She was born outside and adopted us 9 years ago, when she was still a kitten. Our entire neighbourhood knows her, for she spends most of her days outdoors enjoying nature. Unfortunately today, we got a ring at the door from one of our neighbours telling us that Sammy Girl was hit by a car. Sadly, the person who hit her fled the scene. Upon visiting the Veterinary Hospital, she was diagnosed with a concussion, a missing canine, one tooth lodged in her tongue, as well as a broken jaw. She will require hospital stay until Monday morning, to stabilize her for her jaw operation. If all goes well and she does not have cerebral repercussions, the fees for her hospital stay and interventions are now estimated at $4000. Following the surgery, she will require a nasogastric tube (nasal feeding tube) for about two weeks.
Back in 2007 when Sammy Girl first came to visit us, we instantly bonded. We say she adopted us because she visited our backyard one day and never left. She has become a member of our family and we deeply treasure her. We appreciate any contribution, big or small for the recovery of our Sammy Girl.
