Samohi PLTW Seniors

Hello everyone! We are fundraising for this year’s class of seniors in engineering. We have started an engineering academy that combines English for engineering, physics in engineering, and Engineering Design and Development. This Project Lead the Way (PLTW) course in Engineering Design and Development (EDD) is the capstone course in the PLTW Santa Monica High School engineering program. It is an engineering research course in which students work in teams to research, design, and develop an original solution to a valid open-ended technical problem by applying the engineering design process. At the end of the course, student teams must submit a final written report as well as report and defend their final solution to an outside reviewer panel (trade show). We are also competing in the JPL Invention Challenge which is run by NASA, in which we must design a device to perform a predetermined task and earn as many points as possible to advance.
