Sam’s Dental Surgery Fund
Hi everyone !
My name is Sam and I am a Dominican queer artist living in Brooklyn.
On July 13th, 2018, as I was walking to the train 8 cisgender men started to brutally attack me. They proceeded to attack with aggressive force and disgustingly hateful slurs. They had no intention of stopping until thankfully strangers jumped from their cars to help.
Soon after I went to the police department where they told me nothing could be done as I stood there dripping in my own blood.
Thinking I had put this traumatic experience behind me behind me, the incident continues to impact me three years later. Due to the force from the assault, the nerves in my gums were killed resulting in my front tooth needing to become surgically extracted.
I recently lost my insurance and because of my undocumented status I cannot receive unemployment.
The money that I am raising is for my implant and crown surgery which will be another 9-10 month process of surgeries and healing.
This money will help out so much in starting the process of my healing from all the stress and anxiety I have been put under. Trying to figure out how to pay these bills is extremely hard.
I am currently a tattoo apprentice and working hard to stay on my feet. It is critical that I am able to fund this procedure while I continue to build clients to earn income and kickstart my career.
I know alone I cannot pay for this entire procedure so anything that is donated will help out tremendously!
Thank you all and I am extremely grateful for anything!
