Samuel Dodson is a 46-year-old young man who is first and foremost a Father to his 11-year-old son Manuel. Sam is also a friend to many and an EMS esteemed colleague.

Sam is currently a senior paramedic with The City of League City, where he has worked for the past 13 years. Prior to coming on board with League City, Sam was a flight medic with Memorial Hermann Life Flight in Houston. Sam has also worked for Elite Care ER in League City as a paramedic tech for the past few years. Sam began his career in Emergency Services at the age of 17 when he joined the Dickinson Volunteer Fire department. Shortly thereafter Sam received his Emergency Care Attendant Certification from College of the Mainland. In 1991 Sam graduated the fire academy and obtained his EMT Basic certification. Moving forward, Sam obtained his EMT Intermediate in 1993 and his Paramedic in 1997. During Sam’s time in EMS he has worked several years in Galveston County running 911 calls throughout the communities of Texas City, La Marque, Hitchcock Bayou Vista, Tiki Island, Dickinson, San Leon and Bacliff and Galveston Island for Paramedic Plus, Western Regional EMS, AMR, Rural Metro and Galveston EMS. Sam has dedicated his life to providing medical care to the sick and injured of the communities of the Galveston and Houston area. NOW SAM NEEDS OUR HELP!!!
In July of 2018 Sam went to the Emergency room with severe abdominal pain. A CAT scan was done and revealed multiple masses in his colon, liver and lungs. Shortly thereafter Sam was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon cancer that had metastasized to his liver and lungs. Sam is now in the battle for and of his life. He has been unable to work since his diagnosis and is counting on only disability to cover his day to day expenses including those thrust upon him by this illness.
Sam has spent 30 years giving to his community through Fire and EMS.
Please help give back to Sam and his family.
