Help Samuel Makonnen and his Family
Donation protected
On the morning of Saturday, October 3rd, our beloved brother and friend Samy Makonnen was hit by a reckless driver who ran a red light and fled the scene. Samy was riding his skateboard back from work when he was hit and is now in critical condition. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors and nurses worked tirelessly to keep Samy alive, performing brain surgery in an attempt to stop the bleeding and to minimize the swelling. Many of the medical staff were doubtful of Samy's condition, but we continue to trust in God to keep him safe and protected no matter what the signs may look like. Samy made it through surgery and is in stable, but critical condition. He has been unconscious since Saturday and is having recurring fevers along with other health complications. We have been praying for Samy constantly and hope that everyone would join us in seeking the Lord during this difficult time. Along with that, medical expenses for ICU time, brain surgery, and all the tests being done are a burden that many families cannot bear, especially in our current economic time. Costs of these procedures go north of $50,000. Not to mention the loss of income to care for Samy, ambulance costs, and the routine bills that have to be made by the family that don’t just go away during these unthinkable times.
Any financial support will be contributed to Samy’s medical costs and family support. Bethelehem Negga is Samy's mother and will receive the transfer on behalf of her son.
As these financial burdens continue to press on the family, we ask that you may help in any way you can to bring relief for our sister Betty and Samy’s two younger siblings, Deborah and Johnny. We thank the many people who have reached out to the family and who are joining us in prayer.
