Samuel Mruts Asylum & Education out of Ethiopia

Our plan is for him to apply to European schools, study and seek asylum, a plan that has been successful with others. I have sent him some funds already but I need help raising more for him to apply to schools, obtain a study visa and a plane ticket. Anything helps! After 10 months of not hearing from him I finally recieved a message two weeks ago;

Hi Cooper, how are you doing? As you know, my time in prison was very difficult. I was underground for six months. It was a dark and very cramped place, and I only ate once in three days. I wore a change of clothes for six months, then I moved to a better place than where I was for four months. God was with me for ten months, and he is the reason I am still alive. I'm living a stressful life right now. I haven't returned to work, I haven't paid rent for the past ten months, and I still don't have an ID or passport, so I can't move and look for a job. The person who is helping me now is a person who was with me in boarding school. Now my plan is to go abroad but I don't have any money. Therefore, I want you to help me in the form of a loan. And my dear brother, I need your help. I know you are not even finished your school yet, but the only option I have is to ask you.

This is Samuel (Sammie). I met him during a medical mission in 2010 at the orphanage that housed us in Wukiro, Ethiopia. We played soccer, traded stories/language lessons and became friends. His kind, gentleness, and authenticity stuck with me. We have remained in touch since that trip, and I have held him and our good-hearted friendship close. In 2019 He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Nutrition in Addis Ababa. He is interested in a graduate or Ph.D. program focusing on public nutrition education. Something we both bond over.
