Samuel Mwangi to fly back to Kenya

UPDATE 10/10/24 Sam and his family are very thankful for all your generous donations and support. They have asked we close this fundraiser and respect the family privacy in the coming weeks while they spend valuable time together. Sam has his family here with him now and we couldn't have done it without you all. Thank you so very much.

UPDATE 7/10/24 Unfortunately Doctors will not clear Sam to fly home and he has been moved to palliative care here In Australia. His wife is now here by his side. We will be providing his wife with the money for his medical bills, returning to Kenya after he passes and anything his family may need. Again thank you all so much for your support. Once we hear more from doctors we will update you.

UPDATE: Unfortunately Sam was not cleared to fly this weekend, The doctor will review him again Monday. We have gone over $20k and Sam and his family are so very grateful to you all for your generous support.

UPDATE: We did it! We raised $15k, thank you so much for all your generous support and well wishes for Sam. Any extra money will be given to his wife and kids from this fundraiser. Will have another update at some stage today from the doctor regarding flight clearance. Thanks again everyone, you are all so AMAZING!

UPDATE: Saturday flights can be booked once we get the all clear from a doctor today or tomorrow. We would love to get Sam home to be with his wife and his two sons who are 7 and 12 years old. Thanks so much for all the donations so far! You are ALL AMAZING :)

As you may already be aware, Sam, one of Unified Care's stand out Personal Care Workers has merely months to live. Sam has terminal brain cancer and is too sick to fly home to his family in Kenya.

We are hoping to raise money to help Sam and his family pay medical bills, provide him comfortable care and assist his family with accommodation to be here with him.

Sam can fly home with a doctor and carer which costs $3500 pp AUD but will get him home to his wife and family. This is the best option currently.

If you ever worked with Sam you would know he is such a lovely man and hard worker. This is such an awful outcome for him and we are so saddened to be losing him.
