Samuel Steere

Hi! I'm Renee and was the step daughter of Sam for most of my life. We, like so many others in his life, shared a powerful & dynamic bond. Learning of his passing was not only a shock, but casted me through a tunnel of memories and feelings purely centered in love.

Relationships can feel like a wild roller coaster ride, where you share ups, downs, twists, and turns together.

I, like so many of you, have some pretty amazing memories with Sam. He taught me how to drive, walked me down the aisle at my wedding, and threw some pretty epic parties. The Fourth of July was his favorite, because he loved anything that was loud, fun, and extravagant.

That was Sam - he lived BIG, and had a BIG presence that you could instantly feel when he walked into the room.

Even the times that we didn't talk, I couldn't watch a football game, Nascar race, sit by a bonfire, or watch fireworks exploding into the sky without thinking of him - and I probably never will.

The transition of death is so fascinating, because as I can still feel him and speak with him in Spirit, he is physically gone from us. The soul's journey is eternal.

It is the loved ones who are left behind that have the hardest time, processing our grief, navigating our own transitions in life without him, and doing the best that we can to honor is memory with grace and dignity.

As we continue to grieve, heal, and move forward one day at a time, we are rallying together to establish a peaceful closure to his life here on Earth, and celebrate the good times that we lean into for comfort and love.
