San Mateo Teens Hurt in Burlingame Hit and Run

Donation protected
On Sunday, March 1 a group of five teenagers from San Mateo, CA were walking down Howard Avenue in neighboring Burlingame, CA when they were intentionally hit by a car driven by another teenager.

The tragic incident has been extensively covered in the local news media.  The media have reported that the driver was angered by a prank and suspected the teenagers of being the perpetrators, but in fact they were not involved and did not know the driver.

Four of the teenagers were taken to area hospitals.  On March 4 (four days later), two of the students have been released from the hospital with long roads to recovery ahead.  Two others are still hospitalized.  All of the teens, including a fifth boy who was at the scene but was not hospitalized, have physiological and psychological injuries from which to recover.

In addition to the medical expenses, which are significant, their families have missed work to care for them, adding additional stress to a challenging time.

Please join our community in coming together to support them.  The money will be shared among the five effected families to cover their medical bills and help with their family expenses.

I am in touch with the families, and will share some updates on the condition of those who were involved in the accident as their families are comfortable.  We appreciate your help respecting their privacy as they recover.
