San Pedro Hot Meals Food Program by: Maresha Reid

As owner of this Account let me Introduce you to Maresha Reid my girlfriend and business partner of 9 yrs. who is the Organizer of this cause.  Unfortunately she cannot open a GoFundMe page of Paypal with a Belize Bank Account therefore I am Assisting her since I am a U.S Citizen. Here is her Message: My name is Maresha Reid, I am a Belizean Island Resident, Owner/Operator/Chef of two well established businesses; Pirate's Treasure Restaurant/Bar and Pirates at Secret Beach here in San Pedro Town,  Ambergris Caye Belize.   For weeks now, I have organized and execute this feeding program to assist my fellow locals with hot meals since most have lost their jobs due to the worldwide Pandemic Covid-19. As most may know, our island residents income depends on tourism mostly which have been completely halted leaving Hotels closed, Restaurant and Bars and Tours at a stand still and thousands with zero income. Our Government has pledged to assist employees in the tourism sector with relief funds of $150us Monthly which is a daily average of what a bartender, waitress, tour guide etc relied on to survive on this costly island, we are all in big trouble if we have to survive only on the funds of the government.  My original goal was to feed 120ppl a hot lunch 3X weekly which has quickly grown within three weeks to feeding up to 350 in one serving and the list of helpless residents keep growing, leaving lots on a waiting list. With the help of Island Businesses, Friends and Neighbors from here and Abroad we have been keeping the program successful for now but we want to be able to feed more families. We have lots of people volunteering to help cook but we need the products!   With families guaranteed a hot lunch three times weekly this allows them to use the little they have to pay towards their utility bills as the government is also not giving any relief on this, electricity most of all is vital especially for families with young children and the elderly. I plan to keep this program for as long as we are allowed to reopen our businesses on the island and some sort of normal proceeds.  As a well known Belizean Island Resident and Business owner you can trust that your donations will be used for this cause only and for non profit. These funds will go towards food supplies and other items needed to make the cooking possible such as cleaning products, food containers, gasoline for delivery carts etc. As a restaurant owner/chef the management of low food cost and operations will be done professionally.  I am here kindly asking for your generosity in helping us to KEEP the FEEDING PROGRAM running as long as we may need to.
