San Sebastian Marathon for Parkinson's UK
I have always had an itch to enter a marathon, so I am finally doing it.....I also managed to twist my brother Jordan's arm into joining me !!
As I live in the UK & my brother lives in France, we decided to run in Spain.
Jordan and I will be hoping to raise as much money as possible before we run the event in November in aid of Parkinson's UK, an illness that our grandad was diagnosed with on his 70th birthday.
Ten years on, he is still fighting. We have seen how this awful illness has robbed him of his speech, his movement, and his balance, but he is still the same charismatic, fun grandad that makes us laugh and still is very much the “head” of the family.
In 2021, our Grandad turned 80, and we have promised him that we will fundraise in aid of Parkinson’s UK.
In 2020 an estimated 145,000 people are currently living with Parkinson’s in the UK. With the population growth and ageing, it is estimated that this will grow to 172,000 by 2030.
They are close to significant breakthroughs. Funding the right research into the most promising treatments and are hopefully getting closer to a cure every day.
Until then, they are committed to helping everyone affected by Parkinson's. Fighting for fair treatment and better services throughout the UK and, in turn making everyone see its real impact for people living with Parkinson's
Every single donation will help, no matter how big or small!
Thank you in advance for your contributions to a cause that means so much to our family and us.
