Sandi’s house fire
Donation protected
In September, our sister and dear friend, Sandi Shiflett, was diagnosed with throat cancer. She had been complaining of a sore throat which three rounds of antibiotics didn't heal and discovered it was cancer. Sandi postponed the 7 weeks of radiation and chemo treatment until early October because she wanted the family to focus on and celebrate the youngest son’s September wedding. Sandi started treatment immediately upon her return. Sadly, by Thanksgiving, she was unable to swallow, down 30 pounds and so weak she could no longer work as a dog groomer. Her clients were amazing. They said they would wait for her strength to return and promised to be back when she was ready. Sandi was planning to resume work this month but on Sunday, January 7th LIGHTNING struck her house! We are all so relieved that she and her pets escaped unharmed, but are concerned that the effort it will take to rebuild her life and work may be more than she alone can manage. Many of you- her friends, clients, and family- have asked how you can help. First, we thank you for your kindness and for your prayers for her health and strength to be restored. We have set up this Go Fund Me account to help her until she can rebuild her home and return to work. Through all this, Sandi has remained steadfast and positive. She remarked during the aftermath of the fire, “God’s got this!”
God bless you and know that we appreciate any and all assistance you might be able to provide.
