Sandra Coats

Hi my name is Scott, most of Sandra’s biological family may know me as one of her grandchildren. Sandra has been like a grandmother to me for the past 10+ years.

On 1/10/2022 Sandra was rushed to Regional Hospital being confused and lethargic. Later that day the ER staff informed us that she had contracted a UTI that severely damaged her kidneys as it went septic and decided the best course of action was to relocate her to the ICU. The ICU staff worked tremendously since the transition with such compassion. The doctor notified us around 5am on 1/11 that the medication was just not enough, family has decided at that time, the best course of action was to slowly lean her off of the medications and let her rest peacefully in her final moments. At 6:30am on 1/11/2023, Sandra took her last breath surrounded by family.

Sandra would give the shirt off of her back for anyone, we are now reaching out to our family and friends for help. The medical bills exceeded the amount that her insurance covers, and on top of that; funeral costs.
