Sandra DeRose’s Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Alexis DeRose, daughter of Sandra. On Friday, January 12th around 7pm my parents, Sandra and Mark, were involved in a devastating car accident. Luckily, Mark was able to walk away with minor injuries, besides whiplash and a couple bruised ribs, on the other hand, Sandra did take the heat of this. Once she arrived to Yale Bridgeport Hospital, there was a report of her throwing up, and immediately losing consciousness, which resulted in her being intubated. She was then immediately rushed to surgery for a subdural hematoma on the front left of her brain. A brain bleed. After a three hour surgery, she was moved to the SICU with a portion of her skull missing, and under ventilation. Currently, on 01/14/23, she is stable. She is in a medically induced coma, and intubated, and her pupils are equal. A portion of the skull is removed, and is covered with a flap so the swelling can regulate and not cause any excess pressure. Her amazing medical team explain that they cannot begin taking her off sedatives until she heals, and her BP lowers. Her first CT scan was clear, and shows no signs of bleeds or unexpected swelling. As of right now our entire family is praying for her to pull through this. She has multiple people coming to visit her everyday, to talk to her and hold her hand. I, Alexis, and her mother, Lucille, have been here every second during visiting hours, and we plan to be here with her every day until she pulls through this. She is a strong working woman, wife, mother, who only worries about her family, now it’s time we all group together and care for her.
Sandra is only 49 years old. She is strong in every way possible, and has fought hard for everything in her life. With time, and healing, we know she will fight hard to overcome this.
Any donations will go directly towards her recovery, and directly to her family to maintain and keep up with this.
