Billy C. Henson May 13, 1953 - June 30, 2023

Waynesville, Billy Carroll Henson, age 70, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Haywood County and part of a big family of thirteen children, Billy was a son of the late James Luther Henson and Emma Justice Henson. He was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Conard and Elizabeth Mintz; brothers, David and Edward Henson; and sister-in-law, Jean Ann Henson.

Billy worked in Shipping & Receiving at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Asheville. He had a wide variety of interests including fishing, music, football, and NASCAR. A proud member of Center Pigeon Baptist Church, he also enjoyed the challenge of playing computer games and crossword puzzles. Being with his family, especially his grandchildren, was his favorite activity of all.

Billy is survived by his dear wife of 45 years, Sandra Conard Henson; daughter, Jennifer Henson; son, Christopher Henson (Erin); five sisters, Stella Corbin, Dot Mercer, Joann Maddox, Barbara McFalls (Steve), and Brenda Chavez (Tony); three brothers, J. L. "Junior" Henson (Lynda), Jerry Henson, and R. L. Henson, and three grandchildren, Hunter Grigg, Heather Grigg, and Cora Henson.
