Going Home: Sandra Lynn Sparks

My name is Sandra Lynn Sparks. I create as Sana Sparks. I want to go home. I am a writer, performer, and multi-media artist. I want to come back to a life of theatrical art in my old age. Metro Atlanta Georgia is my birthplace, and the place where I have known theater the best.

I create new work other people can be part of, and use. Thanks to many wonderful folks, at this time, I have a start on the funds but not enough for a place to rent and work in within an area near a Marta Station. A place where performers and writers can get together with me and build new works. I am now nearly a third through my goal for making a start. So close to $2000! $6000 is needed to cover all the costs.

The initial funding has made it possible for me to rent a storage unit and get things packed away so I can have a simpler life in my hometown. It will cover car rental as well. I have also made my work more mobile and online, so I can move and work as needed. As I raise funds, I am already working on creative work online that shows the range of my skills.

Much of my work will be based on the life experiences of the elders among us. Theater that tells the stories that we want to tell. That show we still have the freedom to be ourselves. Bring me home to tell the tales...
