Sandy Faulkner Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is David Allen, I am a friend of Sandy Faulkner's.

As you may have heard, Sandy's doctor diagnosed him with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has likely metastasized. He will have his first appointment at MD Anderson in Houston in a little over a month. At that time, the doctors will recommend a treatment plan which may include surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments. All of these treatments will be debilitating, some may require him to reside in Houston for several months. Though Sandy is on Medicare and has supplemental insurance, his medical treatment, especially things such as travel and housing costs, will not be fully covered.

None of us would want Sandy to make a decision on his course of treatment based on the costs involved. In addition, he needs to be free form worry over the financial burden any treatment will place on his family so he can fully concentrate on recovering. Therefore, this Go Fund Me campaign has been set up to provide him with the financial support he will need by the beginning of August so that he can make decisions based on treatment efficacy not treatment costs.

Sandy has been a stalwart member of this community and has given selflessly of his time, talent and treasure to many local endeavors and to our country through his service in Viet Nam. If you met Sandy, you know of his very large, open heart and his joy at giving to others. It is time we gave back to him.
