Help Sandy soothe with Spanish strains at concert halls
Donation protected
Alexander “Sandy” Ortega is a NYC artist, guitarist, and composer. Soothing with his Spanish strains in a unique classical-gypsy guitar tradition, he writes his own compositions. They are rooted deeply in the tradition of musicians before him, while expressing the particular flair of a man with Spanish roots, an American heart, a New Yorker history, and deep faith.

This fundraiser is being organized by his friends in NYC, for whom Sandy has done more than play his guitar. Showing love, dedication, and unbounded care, Sandy has brightened the lives of many of the parishioners at St. Mary Magdalen Orthodox Church. Using his talents wisely, he regales his audiences with sweet melodies from his ancestral land of Spain, and for that gift, for offering his first-fruits to his loved ones, we ask that you contribute to the burgeoning career of this talented musician.
In recent months, Sandy has began public performances of his music. After meeting with great success at venues in Harlem and on the Upper West Side, the funds raised here will enable him to afford initial fees for concert hall rentals and promoters, until concert revenue is significant enough to become self-sustaining. His goal is to perform at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Sony Hall, or Le Poisson Rouge.
