Sandy's Gullaine Barre Recovery Fund
Donation protected
We all know Sandy is one of the most giving humans to ever walk this big old ball of earth, and also one of the least likely to ask for help. She has been in the hospital for the last month with Guillain Barre Syndrome. This syndrome starts with a little virus like a cold and instead of your body fighting the sniffles your white blood cells fight your body's nervous system causing paralysis and extreme pain.
After a stint in the ICU Sandy has been sent to the next level of care, she will likely be there for the next few weeks until a plan is put in place for her rehabilitation, which is predicted to take six months to a year to get her back to digging those rocks she loves so much.
During this time Hans has been driving to Moncton twice a day to be with her. With a daily visit from our dear friend Carol (who has been a literal lifesaver taking the afternoon shift), Sandy has around the clock support and care.
I am making this to help take some of the burden off Hans and Sandy while they navigate this truly crappy time, and to help with the expenses that come with GBS.
