My Story
I never thought surviving cancer would be harder than fighting it.
After beating Stage 3 rectal cancer, I was declared "cancer-free."
Was I free at all? No.
I found myself battling something nobody warned me about:
LARS, a condition that strips away basic daily comforts: eating without fear, leaving the house with confidence, sleeping through the night.
The silence around it was deafening.
Doctors had no real answers.
Just trial and error.
Just: "learn to live with it."
I hit my lowest point when a doctor told me:
“Only an ostomy can help you now.”
That moment shattered me.
I walked out of the clinic feeling abandoned, powerless, and grieving a life I hadn’t yet fully lived.
But in the quiet of that grief, a flicker of fire lit up inside me:
What if there’s another way?
As a bioinformatician, data scientist, and AI researcher,
