Medical Support for Oaxaca Village
Donation protected
San Juan Atepec is a village of 2000 people of Zapoteca heritage that is found in the northern mountains of Oaxaca. They have a medical clinic whose one doctor, one nurse, and one dentist work extremely hard to provide the best care they can with the limited resources they have. Our financial support would allow them to have better access to medications, medical supplies, and educational material for patients. For example, the village has one glucose meter and no insulin because it is too expensive. We are organizing a medical volunteer trip to San Juan Atepec in June 2018 and would appreciate any financial support to be able to help the clinic acquire the medications and supplies it needs. The Doctor in Mexico would specifically appreciate help with Diabetes and Mental Health. We would like to take nutritionist or CDE with us to Oaxaca to put on daily community classes on nutrition. In addition, we are looking for lisenced healthcare providers to volunteer to give direct patient care while there. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
