Santa Bill is gonna beat COVID
Santa Bill Lee is hospitalized with COVID and needs the gift of community support for Christmas.
Despite being vaccinated, Santa Bill was admitted to the ICU on November 15th – just at the start of his holiday event season. He was on oxygen for two weeks until he was moved into a standard recovery room the Sunday after Thanksgiving. By Tuesday he returned to ICU and was put on a ventilator that Wednesday night. He experienced complications in the first days of his ventilator care but has stabilized after some emergency procedures. Santa Bill is a fighter doing everything he can, but this battle is going on much longer than anticipated. He remains on the ventilator with slow improvements each day.
Santa Bill is the embodiment of Christmas spirit in the Rocky Mountains. From the full white beard to the twinkle in his eye and the “ho, ho, ho”, people are convinced he’s the real deal, or as close as there is. He has spent over half his life spreading joy to others throughout Colorado and encouraging kids that the true meaning of Christmas is in supporting your family and others with love, caring and the giving spirit. Bill practices this mantra in providing individual and community support whenever he has the opportunity. That could mean delivering needed free firewood to help heat mountain homes, donating his work tips in support of charities, or offering shelter at his ranch for a local resident who has been displaced from a home. Santa Bill has warmed the hearts and changed the lives of countless people and makes children of all ages smile and realize that Christmas magic can be found within themselves.
We originally set up the GoFundMe account when Santa Bill’s mountain ranch animals were placed in temporary foster care. That was when Santa was thought to be out of the hospital quickly. Now, Bill is fighting for his life and the recovery will be a long and expensive process. Santa Bill has spent his life giving to others, spreading joy and celebrating the spirit of Christmas. Now he needs help himself. All he wants to do is be out and making children of all ages smile again.
We are asking the community to help Santa Bill this holiday season so that he can focus on his recovery and plan to spread Christmas joy next year. Please share Bill’s story and consider contributing. Even small donations can represent big hearts.
Your love, prayers, and well-wishes are so appreciated, and we will keep everyone updated as things progress.
Love,
Brack & Beth Lee
