Santa Cruz Little Cat

Donation protected
Hi, it's Sylvia. I am doing a fundraiser to help pay for the veterinary expenses for my new Little Cat!

While driving in downtown Salinas, I saw a homeless man on the sidewalk with his shopping cart and a crippled little cat stumping around. I went and got some cat food, came back, and sat down on the concrete next to the man who was sitting on a city bench, and I chatted with the man.

The Little Cat cat crawled up into my lap and was very affectionate. I could tell by holding her arm, the her arm was snapped in half. Also, her rear foot was drooping little a little wet sack. She was having trouble bearing weight on either leg, but still did so in good spirits as she navigated around on a lead.

I inquired with the man, and he said she had gotten rolled over by his cart. He said that this happened a week ago.

Long story short, I bought Little Cat for $70 from the man, I drove her to Blue Pearl emergency veterinary clinic in Del Rey Oaks just outside of Salinas immediately.

There, through x-rays, I learned that both her radius and ulna of the left arm were snapped and displaced, and all four metatarsals of the left foot (the ray bones) were snapped and displaced. The vet said it had been so at least two weeks, and that the injuries may have come at different times. Little Cat also had a non-displaced fracture of the pelvis, which the vet said should heal fine.

Being that the orthopedic surgical specialists were due to be in the next day, and being that I work full time and cannot take time off due to supporting my staff and my overhead with scheduled chiropractic patients, I opted to leave her there for the surgeries to repair the displaced fractures.

I was expecting to pay a bunch out of pocket to get this Little Cat back on her feet, and am ready and willing to put my vacation and tax savings towards this goal. But the total sum and the follow up was a lot more than I expected.

So far, I have spent $18,145.00 on two surgeries of the 6 broken bones. I obtained a Care Card and put $10,200 on that credit card, and I put the rest on my regular credit card. Peace of Mind dog rescue paid for an additional $400.

I will be going back to Blue Pearl for weekly dressing changes, and there will be follow up x-rays at some near point.

I am grateful and my heart is warmed by all the well wishes I have gotten from people on the Nextdoor ap. Some people have made donations to Blue Pearl, to my Zelle or Venmo just out of their inspiration to help, and I find that amazing.

In order to give you something back for your willingness to help, I am offering incentives for donating to the Santa Cruz Little Cat fund

Here are some videos including an intro to my Little Cat, and items that I am selling. THE WAY THAT THIS WORKS is that if you wish to donate for a particular item, you must first check in with the Go Fund Me thread to see if the item has already sold. I don't want to disappoint you. I will try to post a summary of items sold every couple of days, and to pull off irrelevant videos to make it as easy as possible. I'm not sure how the Go Fund Me threads work but I will do my best to post what is no longer available, should you wish for an incentive.

You will find an intro or "story" video and then multiple videos on things I have to offer to you for a donation:
