Santiago’s medical expenses

Donation protected
At 7 pm last night, November 23rd, Santiago was taken by his amazing flight paramedic uncle to Midland Memorial Hospital for COVID-19 like symptoms. Upon arrival at Midland Memorial, the wonderful staff provided the utmost precision care available to them. The COVID-19 test was found to be negative, however, Santiago continued to have low blood pressure, with no positive response from available treatments.

The decision was made for Santiago to be flown to Cook Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, in Dallas, for continued treatment. Upon arrival at Cook's, additional tests were done, and it was found that Santiago had previously had COVID-19, and now has antibodies. However, he is suffering from a systemic inflammatory response. The inflammatory response caused kidney failure and an inflammatory response around the heart.

Santiago is in great spirits and is resting while receiving excellent care here in Fort Worth. It is unknown how long he will be admitted at Cook's.

He is accompanied by his flight paramedic uncle here in Fort Worth due to both of his parents being COVID-19 positive. Anthony and our family are very appreciative of the support, love and prayers from the Midland ER Dept., the Midland Fire Dept., Shannon Air Med, and the staff of Bowie Fine Arts Academy.
