Sara & Austins summer bash fundraiser

Tax deductible
As some of you may know, I volunteer at Robin’s Nest Foundation. Specifically, I work with vulnerable teens who don’t have a parents/guardian in their lives, usually due to previous traumatic events. My goal in volunteering is to help them move past their trauma, form healthy relationships with adults, find their voice and gain self-confidence. Yes - it’s a big task. Some of these teens have never had a positive role model. Some of them are non-verbal because of the trauma. However, it brings me joy to try.

At Robin’s Nest, I am an assistant to a licensed therapist who is certified in equine therapy. We work with horses, because horses don’t lie! When you make friends with a 2,000-pound animal, people aren’t so daunting. Equine assisted therapy is a proven tool for treating youth experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma-related symptoms. Experiencing the horse and human connection can allow our youth to gain a better understanding of the social world. Through the programs on the farm, we can offer those struggling, a path to accomplish goals and build self-confidence and feel their lives are worth living.

So instead of bringing a plate of food or a bottle of wine, I’m asking that you help me support Robin’s Nest and these vulnerable teens. ALL OF THE MONEY WE RAISE WILL FUND THESE VULNERABLE TEENS. Nothing will go to overhead, salaries, or even a piece of paper.
