Squamish Cares for Sara, baby Quinn and Grandma
Donation protected
On April 22, 2024 - Mother Sara, Baby Quinn and her Grandmother Carolyn were walking across the crosswalk with two other family members in downtown Squamish when they were struck by a truck. Baby Quinn was dragged two blocks in the stroller by a truck driver who hit them while Grandma pushing the stroller was crossing the street.
A complete miracle, baby Quinn has non life threatening injuries and is doing well, he is safely back in the care of his mother after being in hospital.
Carolyn has suffered head injuries and requires hospital care over the next few days but is currently in stable condition with her husband by her side.
The driver was arrested.
All members of this family are from Ontario as they are visiting family (sister) who live in Squamish and is expecting her first child.
This was a terribly traumatic event for the entire family to experience. Everyone is okay but this accident reminds us that life is precious and the effects of this will linger for a long time.
The community of Squamish is wonderful at supporting families during hard times and this is one that needs a rally around helping the entire family support themselves through a terrifying accident.
Please help donate to Baby Quinn and Carolyn recovery... and also to support and show our love & care for Sara and Grandpa through this time. Funds will go towards extended time here while recovering, meals, lost experiences, flights for other family members to be together and caring for each other.
