Sara Boatright Medical Bills

We are reaching out to share a need within our extended family. Many of you know Dusty Boatright, East Division Field Director for the Sam Houston Area Council. Dusty came to Houston from the Heart of America Council in Kansas City, he has been a professional scouter for over 20 years, loving father of 3 girls, and treasured his wonderful soulmate Sara. Tragically, in late September Sara suffered a horrific head injury, resulting in multiple brain surgeries, spending almost 4 weeks in ICU and sadly passed away two weeks ago.
Sara was an amazing individual who loved life, her family, her church, and so many people she worked with. She dedicated her career to caring for others, the majority of her professional life was with Sunflower House, where she was a child abuse prevention advocate. Most recently she worked for Hope Rising, a non-profit dedicated to helping youth victims of sex trafficking. The word that first comes to people’s mind when they speak of Sara is “love”. She was a “ray of sunshine” for so many people. She was a tremendously caring person and a very supportive wife which enabled Dusty to serve Scouting.
As you can image Dusty is left with a huge emptiness in his life and medical bills that will likely exceed her insurance by at least $500,000. Our goal is to help a family that has given so much to helping others - they have "paid it forward" now is our chance to do the same.
